Objects outlast the people who gave them to us. This series began with a box of my grandmother's belongings I couldn't bring myself to open for a year.
It started with a single drawer I hadn't opened since a house move.
Each painting begins with an object description, written before any paint touches canvas.
Oil on canvas, occasionally with the object's own residue worked into the ground.
The visual language loosens across the series as the subject becomes more familiar.
